Starting from Florence and crossing the suggestive Chianti hills, we will arrive in San Gimignano, a fascinating medieval city, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, also known for its Vernaccia white wine. You will have free time to stroll the old streets and admire the lovely scenery that surrounds the city. Our tour continues towards Siena, the medieval city, known for its Gothic architecture, exploring the Palazzo Pubblico, with the Torre del Mangia, located in Piazza del Campo. We will see the inside of one of the most admired Italian churches, the Duomo. At the end of the guided tour, a delicious lunch will be offered in a small restaurant in the centre, all enriched by a tasting of typical Sienese desserts, such as the famous Ricciarelli and Panforte. We will leave Siena and continue towards Monteriggioni, a small town, which exactly reproduces the typical image of a walled city. The walls and towers are preserved, almost intact and the view from the top of the tower is amazing. Finally we return to the Chianti hills, where we taste the best Chianti red wine, accompanied by homemade appetizers, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, in a typical cellar.
